Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, dear friends!

Last Saturday, I returned from the U.S., and now, during Thanksgiving week, I am back in Norway. Reflecting on my trip, I realize it was a special blessing ā€” one I will look back on for years.

One of the most meaningful moments for me was the overwhelming sense of support from people who share both a love for Christian camping and a heart for the ministry in Russia. I felt surrounded by an incredibly dedicated team, offering not only prayer support but also counsel and a genuine concern for the people we serve. Their encouragement was deeply touching.

A few days before this photo was taken, we discovered something truly special. All of us around the table the Holm family, the DeGroat family and me are adoptive parents, and what made our conversation even more unique was the bond we found. The DeGroat family had adopted a boy from the same town in the Far East of Russia where we adopted our son, Danya. It was such a beautiful reminder of how God weaves connections in the most unexpected ways.

While in the U.S., my ministry took a bit of a turn as I helped camp directors in Moscow and Yekaterinburg prepare for the Fall Meetings. Thanks to the time difference, we found ourselves chatting at some pretty bizarre hours ā€” U.S. midnight, Moscow breakfast time! It had been a while since we last held these meetings, so Iā€™m thrilled to see them becoming a tradition again ā€” even if it means a few extra cups of strong black tea!
