A School Christmas in Norway

A School Christmas in Norway

Here in Norway, there’s been a shift in how schools approach Christmas traditions. In many towns, children used to attend Christmas services at the main church. Now, parents must opt in for their children to attend, and high schools have canceled the tradition altogether. Yet, there are still glimpses of light. At Liza’s school concert in Askim Church, I watched young people from both Christian and non-Christian homes sing hymns and perform. One moment especially stood out: the leading dancer got sick, and her role in the dance, which depicted the life of Jesus, was given to a girl who isn’t a Christian. She danced beautifully—a gospel in itself. I pray her heart was touched through this unexpected opportunity.
