Learning and Growing at LED

My husband Dima and I had the privilege of attending a conference for church leaders alongside a team from our Norwegian church. One of the highlights for me was participating in the Kids and Youth Workers session. Monica Tolås, a family and children’s pastor, was one of the speakers and challenged leaders to get involved in camps, listing their incredible benefits for the next generation. It was such a joy to meet someone who shares a deep belief in the importance of camps.

Another speaker, Roald Zeiffert, an Assistant Professor and PhD candidate at the Norwegian School of Leadership and Theology (HLT) in Oslo, shared about the research he has conducted that showed the great impact camps have in leading young people to Christ, highlighting their significant role in kids and youth ministry.

The keynote speaker, Muriithi Wanjau, a pastor from Kenya, also left a significant impression, challenging us in both our personal walk with God and in our ministry. I couldn’t help but reflect on our association and how easy it can be to grow comfortable, especially in challenging times. His words encouraged me to examine where we can grow, develop, and offer new opportunities to our members. This inspired a rich conversation in our weekly meeting, where we came up with potential areas for our ministry’s growth.
