Throughout the year, I don’t often get to see many of the directors I serve, as they are spread across Russia and neighboring countries, so reconnecting with them at the conference was a true joy. I had the opportunity to share meals with several directors, listening to their stories and learning about their ministries, but one of the highlights was a special gathering where we sat together to encourage one another and discuss the challenges and victories of camp ministry. Each director shared what makes their camp unique and why they see this year as The Year of the Lord’s Favor. I was especially blessed to meet Olesya and Yelena from Siberia, who expressed how much our support throughout the year means to them. They even brought me a box of candy — such a sweet gesture!
In addition to sharing about their camps, many directors voiced their hopes and expectations for the upcoming season of ministry. Some plan to expand outreach to include more youth from difficult backgrounds, while others are developing leadership training programs. A few camps are preparing to transition to larger or newly renovated facilities, trusting that God will provide the necessary resources. There is a strong emphasis on mentoring young leaders, integrating family-based ministry, and fostering deeper spiritual transformation among campers. Despite the challenges ahead, directors left encouraged and ready to move forward with boldness and faith.
