From Inspiration to Practice — The Baltic Staff Workshop Highlights

A month after the retreat, from May 1–4, we held a regional Baltic staff training workshop for camp leaders. The program offered rich learning opportunities — five core courses, a variety of practical and creative workshops, small groups, general sessions, and time for prayer, fellowship, and even campfire conversations. My role this year was to co-teach the Self-Leadership course, lead a workshop on developing leadership potential in children and teens at camp, and assist the program coordinator with general sessions.

The atmosphere was uniquely warm — marked by mentoring, fellowship, spiritual care, and the sharing of experience from seasoned leaders with those just starting out. We also witnessed beautiful unity across denominations.

Here are a few reflections from participants of my course:

“I plan to reevaluate my life — I’m created in God’s image, and yet I’m still human. I want to limit my screen time and take rest and accountability seriously.”

“I was encouraged to remember that I am a child of God, not an orphan.”

“Thank you so much. I was inspired by the idea that I’m not what I do — I am defined by my relationship with God and who I’m becoming.”

“I came away with a fresh sense that God has a calling for me in every season of my life.”

This training equipped leaders to return to camp with practical tools and renewed hearts. One of the most touching aspects of the seminar was seeing how some participants, currently walking through difficult seasons of life, found fresh grounding and hope in their identity in Christ. With tears in their eyes, several of them shared how they were rediscovering their calling and sensing God’s presence in a deeply personal way.
