A long-standing member camp from Kursk that had previously been part of our network is now actively rebuilding its ministry. After attending CCI/Russia's annual the conference in February, their leaders reached out with thoughtful questions about how to strengthen their team culture and leadership practices.
In response, I hosted two online seminars focused on forming, onboarding, leading, and caring for the camp team. The invitation was open to all member camps, and several leaders from across the network joined. The sessions were interactive and encouraging, with experienced directors generously sharing their tools, routines, and lessons learned.
Participants shared many reflections after the seminars:
“I really appreciated the session on onboarding. Some people have been serving for years but rely mostly on intuition. We need to clearly define roles and responsibilities.”
“It helped me see the importance of recognizing and naming the qualities we value in our team. That way, throughout the year we can notice who might be ready to join us. It’s essential that each person understands their role and contribution.”
“I realized how important it is to intentionally create the team space — a central place where they can find information and feel supported.”
“What impacted me the most was the idea that we can set a goal to serve both the campers and the team. You helped me see that it’s worth investing in communication and training.”
“Thank you for the inspiration and for the fresh ideas! I realized that I need to take time to make a team care plan — and start now. Prayer partners were also a new idea for us, we haven’t tried that before.”
“The idea of having a team office as an act of care really struck me. So many good ideas — and those ‘letters from the mainland’ were a gift. Thank you!”
It’s a joy to walk alongside camps that are rebuilding themselves with hope and courage.
Let’s continue to pray for the camp from Kursk and other ministries stepping into a new season with open hands and willing hearts.
