Today I met with Yuliya to discuss a spring staff training workshop in Kyrgyzstan. I left the conversation encouraged by her desire to actively engage, build connections, and begin preparing early.
We are hoping to offer two tracks: one for counselors and one for camp program directors, so that both groups can receive practical training, encouragement, and new ideas for their role. We also plan to invite camp leaders from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, and we even have a contact in Turkmenistan that we hope will be able to join as well.
This Monday we also had our monthly open prayer meeting for CCI camp leaders. When Yelena, a leader from the Far East, heard about the need to pray for the plans in Middle Asia, she responded right away: “Keep us posted. We want to help, and maybe even support financially.” It was deeply moving to see this willingness to be part of a bigger vision, to look beyond the needs of just one camp, and to invest in what God is doing across the region.
