Yesterday, Liza, Danya, and I were drawing Easter-themed pictures, something that has become an important part of our Easter preparations this year, as Family Church is planning a special Easter outreach.
Over the last several weeks, children and adults have been taking part in a project called “The Sounds of Easter, the Colors of Hope”. We were inspired by an initiative organized at a Latvian church by Dasha, a children’s ministry director who also serves as the regional representative of CCI in the Baltics.
We created a playlist with Easter hymns, Easter songs for children, and classical music connected to Easter, including Handel’s Messiah. Each participant chose one piece and created a drawing while listening to it.
Next Monday, we will have a special Easter service. Before the service, we will open the exhibition and give everyone an opportunity to view the artwork and, by using QR codes, listen to the pieces of music that inspired our artists. We are inviting friends and relatives who do not yet attend church, and we will also provide opportunities for people to be creative themselves.
Please pray that this event would become a door for many to join the celebration and discover the true meaning of Easter.
